It was renewed for a 13-episode second season on September 25, 2014, which premiered on July 9, 2015, and concluded on October 1, 2015.[3][4] On October 13, 2015, Syfy cancelled Dominion after two seasons.[5]
Dominion has been met with mixed reviews. On Metacritic, the first season holds a score of 47 out of 100, based on 13 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.[29] On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season holds a rating of 74%.[30][clarification needed]
While the first season felt a bit claustrophobic by design, Dominion Season 2 Episode 1 quickly set our characters free to explore their post-apocalyptic world. I loved watching Alex embrace his destiny and Michael interact with new people.
The 8-ball attacks were surprisingly intense and our heroes dispatched the nasty demons without mercy. I confess, I've been waiting for an 8-ball decapitation since last season. The series has evolved people and I'm lovin' it!
Michael bathing in the ocean was a definite fan service moment. You could almost hear the fanbase squee simultaneously haha... Nice job Mr. Wilmott! However, that scene and the one that followed also helped establish the scope of this season. As I mentioned at the top, the world of Dominion has truly opened up now.
Whele is more ruthless than ever. Will he succeed in removing Claire, or will she and Arika manage to take him out using an 8-ball? The season has thirteen episodes, so that's not going to happen any time soon. The William reveal shocked me, but that doesn't mean he's dead. Does David simply think his son killed himself out in the desert? Is it possible he somehow survived?
Overall, this was a very strong opener for Dominion Season 2. As I mentioned earlier, the world's bigger now, it's darker and there's more at stake. The characters evolved nicely from the first season and each story progressed organically. There were some nice twists and turns as well. Even if a viewer skipped the first season, there were several moments of exposition that brought one up to speed.
As is common with Star Trek, it took a bit for the series to find its footing. The relationships between the crew members is still developing in season 1 and the larger storylines have yet to emerge. Still, this is where you should start to learn about the setting and characters. Basically, Commander (later Captain) Sisko is given command of Deep Space Nine after the Cardassian empire finally ends it occupation of Bajor. He discovers a stable wormhole to the distant Gamma Quadrant, which puts Bajor on the proverbial map. It also makes him a religious icon for the Bajoran people. Here are the episodes you need to hit.
Episode 26: Call to Arms: The crew of DS9 race to mine the entrance of the wormhole in order to prevent Dominion reinforcements from reaching the Alpha Quadrant. At the same time, the Dominion plans its attack on the Federation. The season 5 finale marks the beginning of the Dominion War.
The Dominion League is an online, round-robin tournament. It was created by Stef in April 2014 and is currently before its 57th season. The official website is located at It is organized on the Dominion Discord and signups for the next season are open to new players of all skill levels.
Players are divided into groups of approximately 6 players. Groups are arranged in tiered divisions (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I). Participants play 6 games against every other player in their group, 3 going first and 3 going second, and keep a tally of the total points they score against all other players (1 for a win, 0.5 for a tie, 0 for a loss). The player in each group with the most points at the end of the season promotes to the next highest division, while the 5th and 6th place finishers demote to the next lowest division. Since season 3, the two players with the most points in the highest division, Division A, play an additional championship match of up to 6 games. The points they earn in the championship match are added to their point totals from the regular season to determine the season champion.
The League consists of 6-week seasons with a 2-week break between seasons. During a season all players are divided up in approximately 6-player divisions. At the end of the season the highest ranked players to the next level and in addition the second ranked players in tiers D, G, and I promote. Players who finish in fifth or sixth place in tiers demote. There is a single division in tier A; 2 divisions in tier B; 4 divisions in each of tiers C and D; 8 divisions in tier E; 16 divisions in each of tiers F and G; and up to 32 divisions in each of tiers H and I.

No matter what happens next season, this is FINALLY shaping up to be the post-Nemesis show most fans have probably been dreaming up since 2005 when Enterprise went off the air. For me, I would say since 2001. ;) 781b155fdc
